Since 2007, the Kaunergrat Nature Park Centre has welcomed countless visitors and is one of the most popular destinations in the area. The centre houses the Nature Park Association’s office, the Gacherblick café-restaurant, and the newly built exhibition ‘The Magic of Diversity’, which, since 2025, has been dedicated to the protected areas in the surrounding region.
It is a successful fusion of architecture and nature and a powerful symbol of the realisation of a shared vision: on 19 August 2007, Tyrol’s first nature park centre was opened. Here, the nature park is brought to life and made accessible. An extensive network of paths for exploring the natural diversity makes this possible. Whether enjoying local specialities on the sun terrace of the on-site restaurant or taking a tour of the multimedia exhibition ‘The Magic of Diversity’, the Nature Park Centre combines relaxation with learning. As a popular year-round destination offering a ‘front-row seat to nature’, the Nature Park Centre and its surroundings at the Piller Sattel provide opportunities for all age groups to enjoy the outdoors.
The Nature Park Centre is wheelchair-accessible and has a disabled toilet. A Swiss-Trac is available for wheelchair users.
Throughout the year, numerous visitors discover the unique flora and fauna, recharging their batteries amidst a unique natural landscape. At the heart of this oasis of tranquillity and nature is the Nature Park Centre at Gachen Blick in Fließ. There, the extraordinary exhibition ‘3000m Vertikal’ offers an insight into the nature park’s habitat.
Access by bus:
From both Fließ and Wenns, buses up to 12 metres in length may travel to the Nature Park Centre without a special permit. Buses longer than 12 metres are not permitted on the road.
