At the Fließ Archaeological Museum, you’ll discover unique treasures from the Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Roman period that were unearthed in Fließ. Highlights include the Hallstatt-period bronze hoard, artifacts from the sacrificial site on the Pillerhöhe, and a fragment of one of Europe’s oldest helmets, as well as other fascinating finds from the Moosbruckschrofen. Right next door, the Via Claudia Augusta Documentation Center offers fascinating insights into the history of the first Roman road through the Alps.

At the Fließ Archaeological Museum, behind the village’s oldest facade lie even older treasures from our ancestors. During your visit, you’ll embark on an exciting
journey through time and discover extraordinary artifacts from the region that tell the story of sacred sites, offerings, and life in the Alps.

The museum houses artifacts that are unique to the region and in Europe, such as the Hallstatt-period bronze hoard, which was found in the middle of the village, objects from the prehistoric burnt offering site on the Pillerhöhe, and the spectacular find from the Moosbruckschrofen, discovered by Franz Neururer in 2001. Among these is also a fragment of a comb helmet, which is one of the oldest known helmets in Europe.

Right next to the historic building is the modern Via Claudia Augusta Documentation Center. Here you can learn more about the famous first Roman highway across the Alps—including Roman artifacts and a 1:1 replica of the Tabula
Peutingeriana, the only surviving ancient road map.
